Your information
Privacy, in plain English.
This page explains what happens to the information you share with Jack and Sally at Umber Studio.
When you get in touch
We receive the name, email address, website and message you choose to send, along with your selected service and any answer about how you found us. We use this information to answer your enquiry, discuss a possible project and manage the work if you become a customer.
For project enquiries, this allows us to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. For other messages, our legitimate interest is responding to the person who contacted us and running the studio.
Please do not put passwords, payment-card details or sensitive personal information in the enquiry form.
The services involved
Our website and enquiry form use Netlify. Our email and business service providers also help us receive messages and manage projects. Information is shared with those providers as needed to deliver these services, rather than sold as a mailing list.
You can read more about the hosting provider in Netlify’s privacy policy. Providers may process information outside the UK; their policies explain their processing locations and safeguards.
Understanding website visits
We use Pirsch to understand which pages people visit, where visits come from and whether visitors use enquiry links or submit a form. Pirsch uses a temporary identifier derived from request information and does not use analytics cookies.
Our enquiry events include categories such as the service or package selected. We do not send your name, email address, website address or message text as event metadata. Read about Pirsch’s approach to privacy.
The website also requests fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to load them. Google Fonts privacy information.
Keeping information
We keep enquiry information for as long as it is needed to respond, discuss the proposed work and resolve related questions. If a project goes ahead, relevant records are kept for managing the customer relationship and meeting applicable accounting or legal requirements. You can contact us to ask about the records relating to you.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct your personal information, and ask for deletion or restricted use where applicable. You may also have rights to object or request a portable copy. Contact hello@umberstudio.co.uk and tell us what you need.
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
